3 o' clock.

It seems every day (well, almost every day) since July 16, 2006, I'd wake up to play Maple Story from at least 2 AM to 5 AM. Longer than that on weekends, but on school days I had to force myself to get off at 5 in fear of getting caught. I eventually became careless and got busted one morning at 3 AM, about 5 months after starting that trend. My parents promptly set up an internet control where they set a specific TIME that the internet would turn on. It was terrible. I'd sit blankly at my computer and they never told me exactly what time the internet turned on. I was in shambles.
Eventually I learned to get around that internet control. And I used it to my advantage. Soon, Maple Story was a part of me- I'd live SOLELY for Maple. At school my grades dropped, I slept in every class, and I had bags under my eyes. My friends all knew about Maple, of course, and those who really cared about my future helped my parents in stopping my playing time. Didn't really work, and they eventually drifted away from me.
I was alone in real life, but one best friend of mine stuck by me the entire way. Isabella was always there, always trying to stop my addiction, doing whatever she could to win me back. (Threatening to hack me really did help.) But anyway, I was alone besides her, but I was extremely popular and loved on Maple Story. I would live just to see everyone scream my name when I signed on... and when I pulled out, it was so difficult.
I'm not fully recovered from my addiction- but I don't wake up EVERY day now. I mean, I have the INTENTION to, and I still set my alarm, but it's not as often as I did when I first started. And that's my story on my addiction.
